Croatia

This was our first VBT tour - the cycling, scenery and support from Andrej was excellent. Unfortunately, the value for the accommodations was lacking. Two out of three hotels were not what we would have expected for the cost. While we thoroughly enjoyed Croatia and the cycling, we will be looking for alternative tour operators in the future.

I don’t even know where to begin to review our time on our self guided bike tour in Croatia. This was our first go at a self guided ride and it could not have gone better first of all our guide Andrej, was excellent. He was right where he should be at every moment, when not with us, he answered any questions we had. He is knowledgeable of the area and especially the history as he is from there, and we felt very lucky to have him. The bikes were excellent. We had enough gear to ride all of the hills, the rides were Varied fun and challenging, some of the most beautiful country I’ve ever ridden in. Thank you, Vbt for an amazing adventure. We can’t wait to travel with you again. PS. Make sure to stay on either before or after your excursion to walk the wall in Dubrovnik!

We had a great time exploring the Dalmation Islands with VBT via yacht (Futura). We went toward the end of May and the weather was great (not too hot, with some rain), and for the most part, not too inundated with tourists. The scenery was beautiful, the rides were challenging (recommend e-bikes), the food, excursions, and guides were great!

Fantastic week with VBT in Croatia in mid-October 2024! Everything was top notch, well organized and fun. The e-bikes were great and easy to use and learn. Unless you're a serious biker, I would recommend the e-bikes because the islands are hilly and not something I'd want to climb on a regular road bike. The local guides were the absolute best. Knowledgeable, helpful, extremely flexible and patient, and a lot of fun. Don't expect to be busting your butt with long days of biking. If anything, I wish there would have been more biking. The trip is as much enjoying the boat and the small island towns and it's amenities than it is biking. Food? C'mon. Every meal was awesome. A+ all around!! On top of the VBT experience, the Croatian people are friendly, helpful and laid back and their country is beautiful!

VBT Croatia was a fantastic experience. Our trip exceeded our expectations and my adult son said it was a “trip of a lifetime!” It was a perfect blend of guided and self guided. The guides had great personalities and created a great experience! I loved the variation of experiences, loved the food recommendations, loved the scenery and loved all the group interaction. I am ready for the next VBT trip! Amazing trip! Thank you.

Wowsa, what a wonderful adventure. We explored the Dalmatian Islands on beautiful scenic roads... and most importantly from the comfort of e-bikes, which made the "rolling hills" a little easier to ride. Our guides did an outstanding job from day one. Highly recommend this trip!

This was a terrific trip, especially because of our wonderful guides Vida and Dani. We lucked out with glorious weather. Our walking trips were varied and really wonderful. The hotels were first class with superior service and meals. The short tours provided were very interesting. I always felt very well taken care of with thoughtful small acts of kindness. Our guides answered all of questions with great in-depth conversations. A first-class experience!!

My first experience on a walking tour was delightful. I was very impressed with the expertise and friendliness of the guides who knew so much about history, geography, and local flora. Their attention to detail, ensuring our safety and comfort, while sharing fascinating aspects of Slovenia and Croatia excelled expectations. The accommodations were outstanding and the weather... perfect!

We had an amazing time on this trip and could not have been happier with our decision to take our first ever group tour with Country Walkers. Everything about our trip was seamless. Our tour guides, Dani 1 and Dani 2, were knowledgeable, mature, funny and amiable, each in his own way, and added greatly to the trip/experience. Their local knowledge of culture, food, people, history was unmatchable. We had deep trust in them, and we knew that although everything seemed to go smoothly, they were constantly working behind the scenes to adjust plans due to weather, changes in schedule, etc. They made it look easy, but we knew it was not. Of course the hiking was nice, the views and location fantastic. The food was sumptuous and always different, so we sampled many things and felt we got exposed to all kinds of traditional Croation fare. The wine and grappa were always flowing generously. The eating locations themselves were unique. We heard rumors that this tour was being regrouped or cancelled and were quite surprised as everyone in our group seemed quite happy indeed. It would be a shame to lose these fantastic guides/guys.

We had a great trip thanks in a large part to our guides and our Croatian hosts! Dani and Dani were a great guiding team, who adapted the itinerary to meet our needs. They were thoughtful, informative and knowledgable. I would highly recommend this trip. You will learn so much about the wonderful and beautiful Dalmatian coast.
