Croatia is an incredibly beautiful country. I loved everything about it. The sea, countryside, walled cities, vineyards, olive groves and the overall hospitality by the locals. I will definitely come back to explore the islands and nearby countries. VBT did a great job of planning a 6 day itinerary and Adreaj was a fantastic host. With that being said I DO NOT think the trip was a great value. In fact it was overpriced for what we received. The first 3 hotel nights were nice but adequate. The 3 nights we spent at the Marko Polo were subpar. The grounds and facilities were fine but the rooms were low budget, outdated with mold in the shower. Since the trip was self guided we were on our own for all expenses. If VBT had included a dinner with a local host or a local tour the trip would have felt more enriched. We ended our trip at the beach at a beautiful hotel in Dubrovnik. We loved the area and stayed an extra night. I also have mixed feelings on the biking. We lost two days due to rain and high winds. One day we biked from Orebic' to Loviste. It was absolutely beautiful. The roads had very little traffic but were windy two lane roads with no shoulder. Climbs were two miles, challenging even with an e-bike. The last part of the ride was right along the sea on a bike path. The other day we biked in Korcula 2 short rides. We biked to the beach and through vineyards and olive groves. Just know Croatia is very hilly so be prepared for a challenge even with an e-bike. This is my second trip with VBT. My first trip also had subpar hotels. The next time I plan a bike trip I will be researching other companies.

Croatia and the Dalmatian coast
It was a beautiful trip although I would skip the pre trip to Zagreb. While it’s a city with a lot of history, I felt that it did not offer enough interest for a 3 day pre trip. In fact, much of the area seemed a bit depressed. The stop at the national park on the very long ride to Split was fabulous, the 5 hour bus ride was too much. Perhaps VBT should consider a pre trip in Split. During the week of biking there was alot of down time for traveling and transfers which also meant shortened cycling routes. The scenery was breathtaking.

Croatia by Boat and Bike is the best!
The Croatia Bike and Boat trip through the Dalmatian Islands was absolutely spectacular. As a less avid cyclist than most , I was pleasantly surprised with how much more scenery you are able to enjoy on a cycling trip that you would never be able to were you just on foot at a destination or in a car. The scenery was magnificent and the cycling routes were so well described by the GPS. The staff when both cycling and boating were excellent. The Croatian people, scenery and food were top notch. Accommodations on the boat and at the hotels were great.

Great experience; great staff!
This was a fantastic trip taken at the perfect time of the year in September. We were able to ride, swim and dine in gorgeous settings every day. The chance to meet the locals in their homes for dinners and to hear of their lives in Croatia was priceless. We were very fortunate to have two excellent guides in Nevenka and Natasha; they were both so knowledgeable and accommodating, we couldn't have asked for better leaders!

Great trip! Glad we reserved e-bikes!
Wowsa, what a wonderful adventure. We explored the Dalmatian Islands on beautiful scenic roads... and most importantly from the comfort of e-bikes, which made the "rolling hills" a little easier to ride. Our guides did an outstanding job from day one. Highly recommend this trip!

Trip of a lifetime
Our Country Walkers trip to Slovenia and Croatia was the trip of a lifetime. Our walks ranged from beautiful mountain trails to a spectacular gorge, to Byzantine ruins on an island in the Adriatic. We experienced wine tasting and truffle hunting, and dinner at a historic summer home on Lake Bled. But what really made the trip unique was the knowledge, caring and skills of our two guides Daniel and Vida. They shared their passion for their country, knowledge of the natural world and the history of the region, while at all times looking out for us.

Enchanting
The guides where wonderful I learned so much about the countries we visited. Everything was top notch. The reason I always choose Country Walkers is the fact they always use local guides this makes the trip stand out above the rest. You get an insight not found with other tour companies.

Challenging Walks on the Croatia Dalmation Coast
I have been on multiple bicycle and walking adventures and this was one of the best. The guides were exceptional. They were from Croatia and they did a great job leading us on challenging walks every day and, at th4e same time, educating us on their country. The hotels where we stayed were very nice and well located for our walks and for us to spend free time. The morning breakfast and other meals were excellent. I would highly recommend the Croatia - Dalmation Coast Adventure to my friends and anyone who is relatively physically fit. A fantastic adventure!!!

WONDERFUL IN EVERY WAY
We had an amazing time on this trip and could not have been happier with our decision to take our first ever group tour with Country Walkers. Everything about our trip was seamless. Our tour guides, Dani 1 and Dani 2, were knowledgeable, mature, funny and amiable, each in his own way, and added greatly to the trip/experience. Their local knowledge of culture, food, people, history was unmatchable. We had deep trust in them, and we knew that although everything seemed to go smoothly, they were constantly working behind the scenes to adjust plans due to weather, changes in schedule, etc. They made it look easy, but we knew it was not. Of course the hiking was nice, the views and location fantastic. The food was sumptuous and always different, so we sampled many things and felt we got exposed to all kinds of traditional Croation fare. The wine and grappa were always flowing generously. The eating locations themselves were unique. We heard rumors that this tour was being regrouped or cancelled and were quite surprised as everyone in our group seemed quite happy indeed. It would be a shame to lose these fantastic guides/guys.
