Easy rides, great hotels, beautiful scenery. Nice equipment.

This is a delightful trip. Our VBT host, Jan, was terrific! He briefed the group at the orientation, and was completely available to anyone for questions, advice, or other help all week by phone or text. Hotels and the bike route were wonderful. The entire week of the ride was very scenic, almost all on paved bike paths and without automobile traffic. Riding along the Danube is just stunning. We had hybrid (non-electric) bikes and found that they were completely adequate, as this is not a hilly trip. We loved this trip! This was our third self-guided trip, although our first with VBT. We plan to do more self-guided trips.

Nicely paced, well thought out itinerary. Easy paths with GPS guidance, though needed to pay attention closely as it was too easy to get off the designated trail though very obvious pretty quickly from GPS if you make a wrong turn. Nice to have a floating hotel so you were not packing and unpacking. Enough time for meals and breaks with great van/trip support. Ebike option was greatly appreciated

The cycling guides were fantastic. They demonstrated encyclopedic knowledge of their countries and histories. They were charming, enthusiastic, attentive, engaged and were helpful beyond words. They were the high point of the trip. The city tour guides were also terrific. The cruise ship was wonderful. It was bright, spacious, clean and looked brand new. The food was very good and the cruise staff was absolutely wonderful. The only aspect of the trip that I felt was quite disappointing was the post trip extension hotel, Mamaison Andrassy, in Budapest. That is the reason for my 4 star, rather than 5 star, rating.

This was my first time out of country and it couldn't have been any better. VBT had amazing guides and the trip was planned out perfectly. I recommend this trip to everyone.

I signed up for the tour as a single and went home with 15 friends. The organization was very well done. The leaders were excellent. The accommodations were fine to excellent.
