Portugal

The trip was a perfect way to visit southern Portugal. The guides were awesome, always there to lend a hand or offer guidance. The bikes were outstanding - brand new fleet. The routes were interesting and scenic with little traffic. The food and wine were great. And above all the opportunity to spend time with old friends and to meet new friends was rewarding. Thanks

As with all our VBT experiences Portugal did not disappoint. The trips are planned well from the time you take off from home until you land back at home. The transfers, the accommodations, and the in between are well thought out and planned. Any necessary changes are planned for. Portugal is tourist friendly, they are ahead of the curve with the pandemic, follow the rules. It is tough to find a bad meal, the weather was great; there is a lot of history. The cycling was easily doable for all who cycle 25 miles with some wind or hills. If you take only a few trips, make this one.

Beautiful, mostly easy riding through farmland, residential neighborhoods, and ocean roads. The route is mostly bike paths and back roads. Some short trafficked areas and some hills, but mostly flat to rolling. Self guided is the way to go with the smartphone app. You go at your own pace. Beautiful scenery, nice people, wonderful hotels, and very inexpensive compared to the USA. A trip that will not be forgotten.

Absolutely epic trip! VBT Staff was great from the moment we booked the trip and throughout. Our accommodations were amazing in every city we rode into. Our luggage was always there before we were which was awesome. GPS app on the self-guided tour were perfect. We had perfect weather, which also really attributed to the amazing time we had.

We loved this trip! Beautiful and varied biking routes; knowledgeable, competent and engaging guides, top-notch hotels, delicious food and interesting cultural activities. I wish I could do it all over again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our first VBT experience. The tour route was very well laid out and we cannot not say enough about how impressive our tour leaders, David and Frederico, both of whom are natives of Portugal. Kudos to VBT for the way they planned and conducted our tour!

Thus was our 13th VBT trip and the combination of biking and a small cruise ship was wonderful. I had not anticipated the great food options on the ship. The guides, Manuel and Matayas, were amonst the pantheon of great VBT guides. The biking was challenging, but the electrics were appreciated by my 80 year old body.The roads were mostly low traffic. loved the lunches in the small towns on the daily rides.The bus rides to the rides were like a thrill ride at Disneyland-big bus-little road.

Great trip! Manu and Matt made sure everything went well. The rides were beautiful. The winery visit and the olive oil tasting were terrific. The cruise and VBT worked well together to make sure the trip was flawless. Highly recommend

Awesome Experience. Everything was amazing from the accommodations to the hikes to the guides. Highly recommend this tour to experience different parts of the Camino de Santiago.

Landscapes of the Camino de Santiago was a great experience. I always thought "Seize the Moment" but this trip gave me a new perspective, "Let the moment Seize You". The beautiful scenery of this trip was amazing.

This was an amazing trip! The guides were excellent and the hiking and views were amazing. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone. I can't wait for my next Country Walkers adventure.

This was our first Country Walkers trip and it exceeded our expectations in practically every way! Our guides (Helene and Rita) were excellent and filled our walks with historical and ecological knowledge and tidbits about wherever we were that day. The regions were fascinating, beautiful and seemed to be indicative of authentic Portuguese life away from the cities! Lodging was wonderful in two out of three locations but adequate and interesting in the third! We very much enjoyed meeting and spending this journey with the four other walking companions that we had. In essence, we had a great time, a lot of fun and felt like we really got to see the heart of Portugal! We absolutely loved it!
