Enjoyed this trip to Portugal. Good mix of easy and moderate riding to work off the fantastic food/beverages.

This was our first VBT vacation. We were very impressed with the planning, accommodations, and route. It was a wonderful experience to bike along country roads with guides who knew the area. The hotels were lovely and the meals were delicious. Everything was top-notch.

Portugal offers super routes for biking - coastal, plus quiet inland ag areas and small villages. The roads are not busy and there were bike paths too. Our equipment more than met my expectations - comfortable, reliable, always plenty of charge. Our tour was mid-Sept with perfect weather. The GPS riding app took all the worry out of our self-guided tour. The points of interest were very helpful. All in all, I'd love to do more rides with VBT!

Overall, the bikes were great and routes were good…..the hotel accommodations were hit or miss, some good, some bad. Breakfast as well was hit or miss. VBT staff was attentive and friendly.

We loved this trip! Beautiful and varied biking routes; knowledgeable, competent and engaging guides, top-notch hotels, delicious food and interesting cultural activities. I wish I could do it all over again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our first VBT experience. The tour route was very well laid out and we cannot not say enough about how impressive our tour leaders, David and Frederico, both of whom are natives of Portugal. Kudos to VBT for the way they planned and conducted our tour!

This trip is a great way to see Portugal. Pre-extension in Lisbon, Emerald cruise in the Douro River valley, and post-extension in Porto. Great food, service and extremely well thought out bike routes. 14 of 16 of us used e-bikes, and unless you are a serious rider, I recommend the e-bikes. It is a river valley, so you are either climbing out of it, or coasting back in. The surrounding area is hilly. The small towns that you visit along the way are beautiful and historical. The folks are very gracious. The ship is delightful - 104 passengers, and a crew of 37. Two outstanding leaders wrangle all the bikes, and act as hosts on all the side tours at lunch, and pedaling days end. Can't say enough about how well we were taken of. All in all, a wonderful week!

Wonderful trip! Biking along the Douro and surrounding areas was amazing. We were able to go to some remote places and really experience the area without a lot of tourists around. The meals we had in the small towns were top notch! We had wonderful tours as well. Matyas and David were excellent guides. Riding an ebike on this tour enabled me to enjoy the multiple steep hills.

Our trip was personal and wonderful from beginning to end!

The itinerary for this trip was very well thought out. The local guides, Diego and Pol, were beyond great. I would rate this trip as moderate, but you could elect to skip portions of the hikes to make it easier. The accommodations along the Camino were originally monasteries. The trip was so much fun. This was a fabulous trip in every way. The hiking and scenery were wonderful. The guides were superb and attentive to every detail. The hotels were beautiful, comfortable and in interesting and fairly remote places. The placement of the hotels made for a a very scenic trip and the ability to get to places that I could not do on my own. The food and wine were outstanding. Even the transfer of luggage as we were hiking was so smooth that we did not have to worry about anything. I also took the extensions including Porto at the beginning and staying in Lisbon at the end of the trip. I actually worked out a special airfare arrangement with the company and booked a hotel for a longer time staying eight full nights in Lisbon, which is a beautiful city. I cannot say enough positive things about my experience on the trip to Portugal. The entire experience exceeded my expectations. Thank you.

Portugal has been on our bucket list of destinations for years and it did not disappoint. The countryside, terrain, people, and cities were filled with beauty and history. Our Country Walkers Guides shared their knowledge and enthusiasm and of course made our trip that much more enjoyable. The other guests were all especially friendly and kind which added to our overall experience.
