Our 7th trip and this might be tops, but they are all so good. This trip is easy and we are so glad we did not order eBikes (we are 79 and 82). Our guides were terrific and the trip is planned so there is time for art (Dali two places),Greek and Roman ruins, swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, walking the coast, seeing the Costa Brava from the sea, and exploring the old city of Girona as well as an introduction to Barcelona, where we stayed on for a week in an apartment. Hotels were great too.

Our favorite VBT trip to date. The cultural experience rivaled the well planned cycling routes. Time spent on and off the bicycle created lasting memories for joyful reflection.

loved our rides thru Provence!
Great trip! Our guides were great hosts and made sure everyone was safe, comfortable, and getting the most out of each day. Gorgeous part of the world.

Exceptional vacation
This was our first VBT vacation and we have already registered for a second trip. Provence and the Alpilles is a beautiful region of France with abundant fruits, vegetables and other agriculture. The bicycle travel through the French countryside gives an up-close and personal travel experience.

A trip for the bucket list
As with all our VBT experiences Portugal did not disappoint. The trips are planned well from the time you take off from home until you land back at home. The transfers, the accommodations, and the in between are well thought out and planned. Any necessary changes are planned for. Portugal is tourist friendly, they are ahead of the curve with the pandemic, follow the rules. It is tough to find a bad meal, the weather was great; there is a lot of history. The cycling was easily doable for all who cycle 25 miles with some wind or hills. If you take only a few trips, make this one.

Great week of biking, wine and dining - perfect!
The trip was a perfect way to visit southern Portugal. The guides were awesome, always there to lend a hand or offer guidance. The bikes were outstanding - brand new fleet. The routes were interesting and scenic with little traffic. The food and wine were great. And above all the opportunity to spend time with old friends and to meet new friends was rewarding. Thanks

Loved every bit of this trip!
This was such a great trip. Copenhagen was such a lovely city and perfect to discover by walking. Sweden was so beautiful and the biking was an exciting discovery each day. Bodhi and Philip were just wonderful as our guides - fun, professional and always helpful. We had never been to Scandinavia and this was such a lovely way to see it.

Cotswolds Cycling 2023
Delightful part of the world, and the biking was thoroughly enjoyable. Guides Dan and Hattie were talented, engaging, knowledgeable and competent. The stonework and villages were quaint and charming. Traffic very manageable, with good safety reminders from guides. Accommodations were excellent, and food delicious. The Half Way pub fare was scrumptious. The ride the last day was along a canal from center of Bath out and back--I didn't find this as enjoyable due to traffic, pedestrians, dogs and baby carriages. As with most VBT trips, I think rides from center city should modified by doing a shuttle bus to outside the city, do a ride, and then shuttle back. City riding is dangerous (especially on the wrong side of the road!) and one really can't see much if paying attention to safe riding. Otherwise, this trip was FABULOUS. Happy to chat with anyone who is considering this trip. JB

First time VBT Traveler June 2023
A wonderful adventure for this first time VBT traveler! Seamless travel support from start to finish. While some accommodations were more quaint than we are used to, they provided fine service. The scenery and villages were wonderful and worth the sometimes challenging routes (traffic and some significant hills) - an e-bike might be a good option for anyone who does not routinely take long rides on hilly terrain. Our guides were skilled and took good care to ensure safe travel. Great trip!

Great Bike Trails and Scenic Views
Great Bike Trails and Scenic Views. The routes were great and indeed rated correctly at easy. Only on the the last day did it get more rolling and a little challenging.
Switzerland & France: Lake Geneva, Annecy & Valleys of the Alps
Awesome trip!
We have done several VBT trips and this one rates at the top. The view and scenery were stunning. The biking was easy and relaxing. And fortunately, we were blessed with perfect weather. But as with all VBT trips, the guides truly make a difference. Jacky and Cedric were awesome. They are long time friends and play off of each other so well. They are helpful, informative, and really take care of you. The biking is easy and relaxing on this trip. The accomadations and meals were great. Highly recommended. We had a great time.

Gorgeous views, rewarding rides and delicious food
This VBT trip does not disappoint! The attention to detail for every visit and experience was remarkable. I live in the mid-west and don't have many hills to train on so these rides were challenging for me, but doable and once I was done I felt very satisfied. The accommodations were all different and great in their own way. The guides were energetic and informative. I highly recommend this tour - it's a great way to see Greece!

Wonderful trip
The experience with VBT went beyond expectations as did the part of Greece where we cycled. The Peloponnesian Peninsula is a relatively undiscovered biking jewel, I enjoyed it far more than biking various Greek Islands. Accommodations were excellent and Greek food speaks for itself. VBT and the guides went out of their way in providing a 5 star experience. The bikes were new and top quality, the routes were varied and interesting. The guides bent over backwards to please us and provide a great biking as well as cultural experience.

Wonderful return to Italy
Excellent trip. The weather was great, the routes were beautiful, the accommodations and food were top notch, and the guides were superb. This was VBT trip number 17 and, at 75, the first time I used an ebike. I'm hooked.

Six Great Days of Biking and Feasting
This is a fantastic tour to some of the world’s most beautiful places. The selections of of rides, which got progressively more difficult, were made with great care to insure wonderful scenery, great biking and superb hotel and dining accommodations. The e-bikes we rode were rugged and easy to manage for most riders, although they should offer a light-weight version for people of smaller stature who may have trouble balancing the heavier models. Roberto and Angelo, our guides did an excellent job of educating us about Italy, its history, customs and language. They are fun, smart and extremely helpful representatives of VBT. But this brings me to my only criticism of the company. The tipping policy, which I was not aware of, suggests a minimum of 140 Euros for a gratuity at the end of the ride per guide/per rider (I happily paid more), but it means that the guides are deriving a substantial amount of their income from tips. Considering the high fees for the trip, I think the company must be underpaying their field staff, which is not right. Finally, I can’t say enough about the wonderful guests. We were blessed with a great group of interesting, positive and fun-loving riders who made great companions throughout. Many of them had been on numerous VBT trips (one couple counted 17!), which is a testament to the quality of this wonderful tour.

First self-directed tour, but not last!
Excellent experience overall. We’ve taken as many as ten VBT European tours, all guided. This was our first self-guided, and we loved the flexibility and freedom. Don’t get me wrong, Jan, our Guide met us and set us up for the ride, installing our pedals and saddles. He also checked in on us every day with a text. It was great to know he cared. Excellent trip overall, with excellent views and hotels. Highly recommended!
