A Complete Package

Our favorite VBT trip to date. The cultural experience rivaled the well planned cycling routes. Time spent on and off the bicycle created lasting memories for joyful reflection.

Great trip

VBT never disappoints. This was my 4th trip with VBT and it was fantastic. Our guides Oriol and Martin were outstanding. Loved the visit to the Dali Museum and came away with a new appreciation for his work. The landscapes were beautiful and the visit to the cider company was fun. The post trip in Mallorca was a pleasure.

Exceptional vacation

This was our first VBT vacation and we have already registered for a second trip. Provence and the Alpilles is a beautiful region of France with abundant fruits, vegetables and other agriculture. The bicycle travel through the French countryside gives an up-close and personal travel experience.

Provence is a Pleasure!

Bike routes were beautiful and enjoyable! Loved the town of St. Remy and the location of our hotel. Really enjoyed Avignon and again, the location of the hotel made exploring the city very easy.

Great trip to Portugal

Enjoyed this trip to Portugal. Good mix of easy and moderate riding to work off the fantastic food/beverages.

A trip for the bucket list

As with all our VBT experiences Portugal did not disappoint. The trips are planned well from the time you take off from home until you land back at home. The transfers, the accommodations, and the in between are well thought out and planned. Any necessary changes are planned for. Portugal is tourist friendly, they are ahead of the curve with the pandemic, follow the rules. It is tough to find a bad meal, the weather was great; there is a lot of history. The cycling was easily doable for all who cycle 25 miles with some wind or hills. If you take only a few trips, make this one.

Wonderful cycling through Scandinavia!

The best Swedish tour guides, Pernilla & Philip. Nice bikes, nice hotels, good food, great trip!

Great Biking & Interesting Cities

We've taken 16 VBT trips and the Scandinavia trip is definitely in the top two or three trips we've taken with them. Whoever laid this trip out really knew what they were doing. Great biking, three beautiful and most interesting cities: Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Helsinki, ferry ride experiences, the Stockholm Archipelago, great hotels, good food, incredible museums and wonderful guides who really knew the area and culture. This trip is one of VBT's very best and it won't surprise me to see it become their signature trip!

So beautiful

Bike riding through the Cotswolds was one of my favorites!

Bath/Cotswolds Observations

I am an infrequent bike rider (but in generally good shape) and used E-bike (with power on) throughout the trip given the hilly terrain. I participated with spouse and 6 other friends; our overall tour had 19 riders and two guides. Most riders used E-bikes (including myself); a few used road bikes. Had rain during a couple days – using rainproof gear made these conditions quite bearable. Pros: Beautiful scenery. Bikes worked smoothly. Very energetic and helpful guides (quickly fixed a flat and chain problems). Enjoyable socializing with other riders during rides and mealtimes. Tasty food options and very comfortable hotels. Cons: Some roads are very narrow (one lane width with 2-way travel) with cars sometimes passing at relatively high speed, and particularly challenging when two opposing cars had to navigate passing each other and bikers. Significant stretches of road were in poor condition (potholes and uneven pavement edges) that required vigilant maneuvering. The riding schedule was busy and riders were asked to all meet up periodically, which slowed things somewhat when road bike riders progressed slower. The time allotted to explore at some stops (e.g. Blenheim Palace) was short and allowed only a very quick oversight of the location; would have preferred more flexibility.

Switzerland & France: Lake Geneva, Annecy & Valleys of the Alps

An Unforgettable Journey Through the Alps with VBT

My wife and I recently returned from an incredible VBT biking adventure through Switzerland and France, exploring Lake Geneva, Annecy, and the stunning Valley of the Alps. From start to finish, the trip was beautifully organized and exceeded our expectations. Our guides, Philippe and Luigi, were outstanding—knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about the regions we explored. Each day was filled with fascinating insights, local stories, and just the right amount of fun. They created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made the entire group feel like family. The daily bike rides were absolutely breathtaking, offering a perfect balance of challenge and enjoyment. Riding through alpine valleys, lakeside paths, and charming villages was a dream come true. Lake Annecy was a particular highlight—the ride around the lake and our visit to the town were unforgettable. We especially loved the first two hotels, which were both comfortable and full of character, adding to the charm of the experience. And the food—wow! Every meal was a delight, showcasing the best of Swiss and French cuisine. This trip was the perfect blend of adventure, culture, and relaxation. We’re already thinking about our next VBT journey!

Gorgeous views, rewarding rides and delicious food

This VBT trip does not disappoint! The attention to detail for every visit and experience was remarkable. I live in the mid-west and don't have many hills to train on so these rides were challenging for me, but doable and once I was done I felt very satisfied. The accommodations were all different and great in their own way. The guides were energetic and informative. I highly recommend this tour - it's a great way to see Greece!

Greece: Sparta, Monemvasia & the Peloponnesian Peninsula

Wonderful trip

The experience with VBT went beyond expectations as did the part of Greece where we cycled. The Peloponnesian Peninsula is a relatively undiscovered biking jewel, I enjoyed it far more than biking various Greek Islands. Accommodations were excellent and Greek food speaks for itself. VBT and the guides went out of their way in providing a 5 star experience. The bikes were new and top quality, the routes were varied and interesting. The guides bent over backwards to please us and provide a great biking as well as cultural experience.

Easy rides - amazing views!

Exceptional biking vacation - easy rides and outstanding views! 1. Flew into Verona with a short transfer to Sirmione (pre-trip extension). 2. Sirmione is a must do - hotel is out on the point near the ruins and Jamaica beach - best hotel location of all. 3. Drive through the city was wild - tiny streets, narrow passages, pedestrians and drivers unbothered by the closeness ... 4. Hotel staff was exceptional - Sebastian & Simone - both spoke exceptional English, gave great activity (Ruins & Castle) & food (restaurant and Gelato) advice, explained the hotel amenities & the private beach with key. 5. We bought the combination ticket for the castle & the Ruins - both were great walking tours - history here is amazing! 6. We visited the private beach - 100+ stairs to get down ... then they have rock "plates" about 2 feet under water, so you have to get on your back and float out to the deep area 50+ meters - many boats are parked there for swimming & hot springs (great location but work a bit to get there). 7. Some great restaurants - pasta and seafood. 8. Lake Iseo - amazing rides, hotel along the water with swimming pool and lake access. We heard music one night, so we walked 100-meters, and it was a small band playing all 70's music - perfect closeout to an amazing night. 9. Rides were all relatively flat, along the lake and through the countryside. 10. Winery stop was exceptional - great appetizers and meals - known for sparkling wine! 11. Tirano Italy stop - took the Bernini express up to St Moritz - amazing train ride into the alps ... and then we rode about 20K in the flats ... before heading back by bus! 12. Rode out of Tirano to Lake Como ... about 45 miles of relatively flat terrain easy ride with some nice views! 13. Final day was walking tour on won in Bellagio & Varenna - nice closeout to a great bike trip.

Another great VBT adventure.

The scenery is spectacular, the guides were fantastic, great lodgings. Only complaint is that some of the rides had to use fair heavily trafficked, narrow roads, but those are the constraints for riding in that spectacular scenery.

Amazing self guided bike adventure

We did the self-guided Germany and Austria tour and loved being able to be independent and set our own schedule. You definitely need to be a little adventurous and confident using the Ride with GPS app. Don’t feel like you have to adhere to the routing. We loved going off course if we saw something across the River that we wanted to explore. Each hotel was very welcoming as soon as we rode in and they all had bike parking set aside. Don’t expect to see your VBT rep each day unless you need them. Our rep was always available and responsive via text. If you feel like you need daily contact or like meeting new people, you might be better off with a VBT guided tour. We loved our adventure and can’t wait to do another one! #justgo
