My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the VBT Costa Brava trip. The biking itinerary was clearly written and well planned. We are confident traveling in Europe after living there many years, however, we believe it is safer and certainly more convenient to bike with a reputable group tour. VBT offers a high quality experience which we can recommend without hesitation.

Enjoyed the bike ride, the small cities and towns, the archeological site at Empires and the trip leaders. A delightful corner of Spain.

Great trip! Our guides were great hosts and made sure everyone was safe, comfortable, and getting the most out of each day. Gorgeous part of the world.

Bike routes were beautiful and enjoyable! Loved the town of St. Remy and the location of our hotel. Really enjoyed Avignon and again, the location of the hotel made exploring the city very easy.

Portugal was our 11th VBT trip and 12th biking trip. It was the best or at least equal to our other great trips. The guides were the best ever and the hotels , especially the Farm House, were excellent. The biking was challenging at times but very good overall. We highly recommend the trip and very much want to return to Portugal. Great food, great wine and a beautiful country. We felt very safe on the roads and highways as Portugal drivers are very courteous to bikers. Absolutely nothing to complain about and as with all VBT trips, a great value.

The trip was a perfect way to visit southern Portugal. The guides were awesome, always there to lend a hand or offer guidance. The bikes were outstanding - brand new fleet. The routes were interesting and scenic with little traffic. The food and wine were great. And above all the opportunity to spend time with old friends and to meet new friends was rewarding. Thanks

VBT has done it again. For over 20 years, my wife and I have been taking bicycle trips. We had long been hoping that VBT, our favorite tour company, would add a trip to Scandinavia. When we found out about this new trip last year, we signed up within days. It did not disappoint. Our leaders were friendly, knowledgeable and always ready to help. We had nice weather. Our mid-September departure had temperatures in the mid to upper 60s, and occasionally in the 70s. The rides were beautiful. We usually ride road bikes, but were glad to be on hybrids because there were some gravel surfaces and even a few miles of dirt road. The local people were a bit reserved, but quite friendly when approached. English is widely understood and spoken in Scandinavia. We chose to do both the pre trip in Copenhagen and post trip in Helsinki. We are glad we did. The evening cruise to Helsinki through the Stockholm archipelago was stunningly beautiful.

We really lucked out with the weather, signed up for the trip in Sept. the year before. Lovely scenery for bike riding, we choose E-Bikes after reading other reviews, a first, usually ride road bikes or Hybrids, glad we did, it has some punchy hills, made for an enjoyable ride I think 17 out of 20 guests also rode e-bikes. Also with an e-bike you have some suspension, which came in handy as some of the road surfaces are chunky or bumpy. The Hotels and Inns were charming with smallish rooms and good dinners and breakfasts offered. Dining out in the smaller towns was limited, lots of choices suggested by VBT were very good. Oxford and Bath were fun towns with lots of history and good pubs.

We loved our VBT cycling trip in the Cotswolds. The countryside and charming villages we passed through were beautiful, and and we learned so much from our two guides, both local to the area. We've taken many cycling trips, and this was among our favorite. Highly recommend this trip!

My wife and I recently returned from an incredible VBT biking adventure through Switzerland and France, exploring Lake Geneva, Annecy, and the stunning Valley of the Alps. From start to finish, the trip was beautifully organized and exceeded our expectations. Our guides, Philippe and Luigi, were outstanding—knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about the regions we explored. Each day was filled with fascinating insights, local stories, and just the right amount of fun. They created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made the entire group feel like family. The daily bike rides were absolutely breathtaking, offering a perfect balance of challenge and enjoyment. Riding through alpine valleys, lakeside paths, and charming villages was a dream come true. Lake Annecy was a particular highlight—the ride around the lake and our visit to the town were unforgettable. We especially loved the first two hotels, which were both comfortable and full of character, adding to the charm of the experience. And the food—wow! Every meal was a delight, showcasing the best of Swiss and French cuisine. This trip was the perfect blend of adventure, culture, and relaxation. We’re already thinking about our next VBT journey!

This was my third VBT trip. The cycling and beauty of this tour was outstanding, but I felt that there were some shortcomings in comparison to previous trips. There was no local experience of dining at the home(s) of locals, nor were there any guided tours provided by outside guides. The support vehicle had limited snacks and they were only available once in the morning when we stopped an hour or so after breakfast. It would have been nice to have snacks available at the end of the morning cycling or in the afternoon as on previous trips. I still provided a good rating based on the other aspects of the trip.

This VBT trip does not disappoint! The attention to detail for every visit and experience was remarkable. I live in the mid-west and don't have many hills to train on so these rides were challenging for me, but doable and once I was done I felt very satisfied. The accommodations were all different and great in their own way. The guides were energetic and informative. I highly recommend this tour - it's a great way to see Greece!

The experience with VBT went beyond expectations as did the part of Greece where we cycled. The Peloponnesian Peninsula is a relatively undiscovered biking jewel, I enjoyed it far more than biking various Greek Islands. Accommodations were excellent and Greek food speaks for itself. VBT and the guides went out of their way in providing a 5 star experience. The bikes were new and top quality, the routes were varied and interesting. The guides bent over backwards to please us and provide a great biking as well as cultural experience.

This was our Favorite VBT tour (number 3 for us). Others were “Tuscany by the Sea” (2011) and one in Southern France (2015). We particularly enjoyed the diversity of experiences - especially being near around and even on the 3 lakes! Hotels were lovely, the scenery was amazing and the trip into the Swiss Alps was breathtaking. We really loved the entire experience and can’t wait for another amazing time (VBT how can you top this???). BTW - other “veteran VBT guests - some with with as many as 17 SEVENTEEN!!! VBT tours IN ITALY!” Thought this was one of the best - if not THE BEST. It was great NOT to be in the crowded popular areas - “off the beaten track” - places that according to our guides, not even typical Italian tourists visit. This was our first VBT experience and it was outstanding. Each day was well organized with our two guides reviewing a detailed plan for the day. Everything was taken care of for each participant. The bikes presented to us were in great shape. Your luggage was transported to your hotel room, check in at our new accommodations went flawlessly. The hotels were just the right style, clean and in great locations- the hotel in Sulzano had a pool and we were situated right on the water- truly lovely. The biking was primarily on bike paths so you weren’t competing with cars which made our rides very relaxing and enjoyable. We had the opportunity to ride through a number of small Italian towns which was delightful. The distances on this tour were perfect for folks who wanted medium distances. If you’re a serious rider, you may not find these distances challenging enough. There were 50% of people on e-bikes versus traditional bikes. The group of 22 really enjoyed each other. Can’t say enough about VBT and their organization. Highly recommend and we’ll return for another experience.
