Scenery, riding history, art, food - it has it all

This was one of the best VBT tours we have taken. Food, riding, scenery, exploration of the art of Dali, wonderful guides and fantastic accommodations. Pre-trip in Barcelona is a must do to see the Gaudi architecture and Picasso museum as well as experience Catalonia at its best.

Best Bike Trip Ever!

This was a perfect trip...Seamless. My 8th VBT bicycling trip and all were good but this one was exceptional because our leaders were exceptional. Great biking, great cultural events and guided tours, wonderful food, very cohesive group of 22 guests who really liked each other every single day. Bravo Javi and Andrea..I hope we meet again!

Provence is a Pleasure!

Bike routes were beautiful and enjoyable! Loved the town of St. Remy and the location of our hotel. Really enjoyed Avignon and again, the location of the hotel made exploring the city very easy.

Beautiful locales and local dining

This was our first VBT vacation. We were very impressed with the planning, accommodations, and route. It was a wonderful experience to bike along country roads with guides who knew the area. The hotels were lovely and the meals were delicious. Everything was top-notch.

Exploring the English Countryside

This was my 6th trip with VBT and once again they have the BEST tour guides. Conor and Mick were incredible. Knowledgeable, friendly and always there to assist with any issue. They each took the time to get to meet and know everyone on a personal level. We had great weather too. Only one day with a few sprinkles, otherwise in the high 50's and 60's. Scenic views every day of the rolling countryside. Lush fields, quiet villages and farm life blended with stops at Blenheim Palace, a farmers market and our final destination in Bath did not disappoint. Out of the group of 20, only three of us were on road bikes (which were great bikes by the way!). Unless you ride on a regular basis, some of the hills were a bit challenging. The accommodations were quaint, though sometimes a bit tight for two people. I was glad we were there in the Spring as most of rooms had no air conditioning. The meal choices were somewhat limited/standard at some of the Inns we stayed at, but we were able to make some requests to change things up. Don't be afraid to ask! All the staff at all the Inns were very friendly and helpful. Definitely go out and explore the local bakeries, pubs and markets. The food is incredible. So fresh. Yes, we tried all the local favorites (Steak & Ale Pie, Toad in the Hole, Gregg's sausage rolls, cream tea, blood pudding, etc.) and were not disappointed. Roads are a bit narrow at times but drivers are always courteous. We've already planned our next VBT trip!

Beautiful but Ordinary (below VBT quality)

Cotswolds are a beautiful place to bike, guides facilitated a great trip. Wish there were interactions with locals as we’ve had on other VBT trips. Hotels are beautiful but a local chain and the food is similar throughout.

Fabulous VBT Trip!

My wife and I and two friends had the pleasure of joining VBT for the Switzerland and France: Lake Geneva, Annecy and Valley of the Alps guided bike tour in early September, 2025. Consistent with our previous cycling trip with VBT it was a fabulous experience. From the itinerary developed by VBT through great trails and beautiful vistas, to the amazing accommodations and outstanding tour guides (Jean Marc and Luigi), it was a memorable experience. VBT runs a high quality operation, thinking through every trip detail and through their engaging personalities and detailed knowledge of the itinerary, Jean Marc and Luigi brought them to life in a special way - making the trip both a physical experience as well as one filled with learning about the culture and history of the area. The meals provided were excellent and the snack table at the morning and afternoon breaks from cycling were filled with a variety of options, from fruit, cheese and crackers, to chocolates! We are already scanning the options for our next VBT ride!

A trip to remember!

This tour had great cycling, fantastic hotels and stunning scenery! Each day was better than the previous but our stay at Abbaye de Talloires and day 4 cycling around Lake Annecy were highlights for me.

Gorgeous views, rewarding rides and delicious food

This VBT trip does not disappoint! The attention to detail for every visit and experience was remarkable. I live in the mid-west and don't have many hills to train on so these rides were challenging for me, but doable and once I was done I felt very satisfied. The accommodations were all different and great in their own way. The guides were energetic and informative. I highly recommend this tour - it's a great way to see Greece!

Wonderful trip

The experience with VBT went beyond expectations as did the part of Greece where we cycled. The Peloponnesian Peninsula is a relatively undiscovered biking jewel, I enjoyed it far more than biking various Greek Islands. Accommodations were excellent and Greek food speaks for itself. VBT and the guides went out of their way in providing a 5 star experience. The bikes were new and top quality, the routes were varied and interesting. The guides bent over backwards to please us and provide a great biking as well as cultural experience.

Loved the Lake District in Italy!

We thoroughly enjoyed the scenery and biking of the Lake area. Our guides Roberto and Angelo were the best! The hotels and towns where we stayed were great! We hope to do another!!

A Beautiful and Varied Riding Environment

With a two adjustments, the trip would be a five star trip. One is to move the warmup ride from the congested, cobblestone streets of old town Passau to an easier riding environment. Second is to be more selective in the room choices in the hotel in the Wachau Valley. Otherwise, the trip met my expectations and more. The riding is in varying environments - forests, mountains, riversides, vineyards, orchards, and small, ancient villages. The elevation changes are minimal, there are long stretches where there is no stopping at intersections, and best of all, for all but small portions, you are riding on dedicated bike trails or bike lanes without having to worry about vehicles. Navigating was easy with Ride with GPS, and we took cues from the trail signs and the bicycle traffic. The luggage transfers and shuttles operated flawlessly.
