A Complete Package

Our favorite VBT trip to date. The cultural experience rivaled the well planned cycling routes. Time spent on and off the bicycle created lasting memories for joyful reflection.

Terrific diverstiy of scenery and cultural sights.

Our 7th trip and this might be tops, but they are all so good. This trip is easy and we are so glad we did not order eBikes (we are 79 and 82). Our guides were terrific and the trip is planned so there is time for art (Dali two places),Greek and Roman ruins, swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, walking the coast, seeing the Costa Brava from the sea, and exploring the old city of Girona as well as an introduction to Barcelona, where we stayed on for a week in an apartment. Hotels were great too.

Provence is a Pleasure!

Bike routes were beautiful and enjoyable! Loved the town of St. Remy and the location of our hotel. Really enjoyed Avignon and again, the location of the hotel made exploring the city very easy.

Exceptional vacation

This was our first VBT vacation and we have already registered for a second trip. Provence and the Alpilles is a beautiful region of France with abundant fruits, vegetables and other agriculture. The bicycle travel through the French countryside gives an up-close and personal travel experience.

Great week of biking, wine and dining - perfect!

The trip was a perfect way to visit southern Portugal. The guides were awesome, always there to lend a hand or offer guidance. The bikes were outstanding - brand new fleet. The routes were interesting and scenic with little traffic. The food and wine were great. And above all the opportunity to spend time with old friends and to meet new friends was rewarding. Thanks

The guides were great and we loved the daily bike trails. The hotels rooms were not great. The hotels had great rooms and we were able to upgrade our rooms at our own cost. In the past, especially pre and post trips we had the best rooms in the hotel; this is not longer true! The airline reservations have always been horrible. You can't book the pre or post trip unless you use their airline reservations. Back when the pre and post trip had a fabulous hotel rooms, it was worth using their inferior airlines. These days I will have to really think out my options.

Switzerland and France VBT trip

This was a easy and beautiful trip. Perfect for first timer VBT bikers and Ebikes . The views were spectacular and one of the many high points were the para gliders in Annecy. Look up on your ride. It looked like butterflies coming down. There was a glider port at another hotel. Also, bring a bathing suit in your “Gucci bag” along with a camp towel. There were lakes to cool off in along the rides. Our guides were wonderful and considering this was the first time this ride had been done, everything went well. If you do the Post trip in Lyon, the City Card was a good value for the second day. It covered public transport, admission to museums and guided tours. VBT has never disappointed us. Planning our next trip already This was our 7th trip and you can’t beat the beauty of the Alps and the people.

Gorgeous views, rewarding rides and delicious food

This VBT trip does not disappoint! The attention to detail for every visit and experience was remarkable. I live in the mid-west and don't have many hills to train on so these rides were challenging for me, but doable and once I was done I felt very satisfied. The accommodations were all different and great in their own way. The guides were energetic and informative. I highly recommend this tour - it's a great way to see Greece!

Wonderful trip

The experience with VBT went beyond expectations as did the part of Greece where we cycled. The Peloponnesian Peninsula is a relatively undiscovered biking jewel, I enjoyed it far more than biking various Greek Islands. Accommodations were excellent and Greek food speaks for itself. VBT and the guides went out of their way in providing a 5 star experience. The bikes were new and top quality, the routes were varied and interesting. The guides bent over backwards to please us and provide a great biking as well as cultural experience.

Italian lakes

Very nice tour with the usual fantastic guides and bike equipment. The areas where we biked were lovely and the route guidance was excellent. There was a bit too much riding on high traffic and narrow roads in some of the towns, and it seemed as though this might have been avoided. The hotels in Sirmione, Sulzano and Tirano were varied and interesting; the location in Colico seemed a bit out of the way from what would be interesting on Lake Como.

Thank you VBT

Amazing ! Better than I thought with everything, the trails (paths), the reservations, the hotels, the views, towns, the foods and of course the Guides. First time in Europe and way exceeded my expectations of it

Self-guided Danube Bike Tour

Our self-guided Danube bike tour was glorious from start to finish. The bikes were excellent. The prescribed routes were beautiful and easy to navigate. (About 50km/day was perfect.) Lodgings were sublime, lovely locations with amazing breakfasts. Two enthusiastic thumbs up. Thank you VBT!

A Beautiful and Varied Riding Environment

With a two adjustments, the trip would be a five star trip. One is to move the warmup ride from the congested, cobblestone streets of old town Passau to an easier riding environment. Second is to be more selective in the room choices in the hotel in the Wachau Valley. Otherwise, the trip met my expectations and more. The riding is in varying environments - forests, mountains, riversides, vineyards, orchards, and small, ancient villages. The elevation changes are minimal, there are long stretches where there is no stopping at intersections, and best of all, for all but small portions, you are riding on dedicated bike trails or bike lanes without having to worry about vehicles. Navigating was easy with Ride with GPS, and we took cues from the trail signs and the bicycle traffic. The luggage transfers and shuttles operated flawlessly.
