Europe

A great time!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the VBT Costa Brava trip. The biking itinerary was clearly written and well planned. We are confident traveling in Europe after living there many years, however, we believe it is safer and certainly more convenient to bike with a reputable group tour. VBT offers a high quality experience which we can recommend without hesitation.

Best Bike Trip Ever!

This was a perfect trip...Seamless. My 8th VBT bicycling trip and all were good but this one was exceptional because our leaders were exceptional. Great biking, great cultural events and guided tours, wonderful food, very cohesive group of 22 guests who really liked each other every single day. Bravo Javi and Andrea..I hope we meet again!

loved our rides thru Provence!

Great trip! Our guides were great hosts and made sure everyone was safe, comfortable, and getting the most out of each day. Gorgeous part of the world.

Exceptional vacation

This was our first VBT vacation and we have already registered for a second trip. Provence and the Alpilles is a beautiful region of France with abundant fruits, vegetables and other agriculture. The bicycle travel through the French countryside gives an up-close and personal travel experience.

Great trip to Portugal

Enjoyed this trip to Portugal. Good mix of easy and moderate riding to work off the fantastic food/beverages.

5 Star Trip

Portugal was our 11th VBT trip and 12th biking trip. It was the best or at least equal to our other great trips. The guides were the best ever and the hotels , especially the Farm House, were excellent. The biking was challenging at times but very good overall. We highly recommend the trip and very much want to return to Portugal. Great food, great wine and a beautiful country. We felt very safe on the roads and highways as Portugal drivers are very courteous to bikers. Absolutely nothing to complain about and as with all VBT trips, a great value.

Awesome

I have done 9 trips with VBT so far, all have been great, but I must say this went to #1. The 2 best guides, the entire 20 guests like instant friends, with our leaders Prunella and Philip. I wish we had more time everywhere. The post trip to Helsinki was truly amazing, so glad we did it, only 4 of us went, sorry to say the others missed out. Jean Vermeeren

Loved every bit of this trip!

This was such a great trip. Copenhagen was such a lovely city and perfect to discover by walking. Sweden was so beautiful and the biking was an exciting discovery each day. Bodhi and Philip were just wonderful as our guides - fun, professional and always helpful. We had never been to Scandinavia and this was such a lovely way to see it.

Brilliant! A must go tour!

My husband and I highly recommend the bicycling tour of England, Bath and the Cotswolds hosted by VBT. Our guides were brilliant, very knowledgeable of the area history, and especially mindful of all the nuances of our gorgeous route. We were safe, well cared for, and informed. Hattie, a champion cyclist, not only was a great coach of e-bike techniques, but also able to repair bikes on site if needed. Jago was brilliant with stories, history, and nuggets of interesting information as well as funny jokes. Hotels were comfortable and food provided was over the top! We certainly missed all the three course meals once back in the states. The tour included lots of must sees, including the Downton Abbey mile, tickets to Blenheim Palace and the Roman Baths. We recommend an e-bike for most enjoyment for those 60+ years old. The rolling hills of the Cotswolds are stunning!

The Cotswalds Guided Bike Tour was GREAT!

This was our virgin voyage with VBT, and we knew not what to expect. We are not experienced cyclists. Never donned padded shorts before this trip. But, after pedaling six glorious days through magnificent countryside, on routes thoughtfully set up; securely guided by two friendly and oh so helpful locals who shared their knowledge of the area and were as personable as all get out, we will certainly be joining a VBT tour again. As we found out, 75% of our group already had. Conner and Mick were outstanding guides-attending to any need of any type at any time - on the ride or at the stops in between. They could not do enough for you - and always with an eager smile. They were like your best buddies taking you for a spin through their homeland. Just the best. The accommodations provided were great - warm, quaint, with excellent food. I really could go on, but let me simply say....we can't wait for our next VBT trip!

Mountains, rivers, and bike paths

Our leaders, Luigi and Jean Marc, were well organized, attentive to our needs, and delightful to be around. Chamonix, where the trip starts, is all about Mont Blanc. You can take a cable car to a nearby peak and see in all directions, if it is not cloudy. The cable car ride is still worthwhile if it's cloudy. You can also enjoy the river walk and ride a train, north and south, for free. The bike rides were mostly on bike paths and often downhill. There were three steep climbs which the ebikes and road bikes managed easily. Mountains were always in sight and so were rivers, especially the Rhone. We had rain several days, but no washouts. The trip ends in Lyon, a metropolitan city. There are museums, a river walk, river cruises, and shopping. Lyon is also the gastronomical center of France. We took advantage of Greeter Lyon Metropole which arranges free tours with local citizens. The strolls, as they are called, are usually two hours but our guide gave us a four hour tour. One downside is theft by pickpocket. In our group, one person had a wallet stolen, another a cell phone, and another thwarted a theft attempt. Take precautions and the thieves will look elsewhere.

WOW-JUST WOW!!!

I have been lucky enough to travel to many places-in nany styles-solo-with my husband-with lots of family and friends. I never compare places because I enjoy all for different reasons. THIS WAS BY FAR MY MOST FAVORITE TRIP OF ALL!!! So I guess Iam comparing-LOL. The hotels-the scenery-the food-the perfect bikes-amazing guides-and the group itself all combined to make it absolutely amazing!! Consider us VBT lifers-we can't say enough!

Gorgeous views, rewarding rides and delicious food

This VBT trip does not disappoint! The attention to detail for every visit and experience was remarkable. I live in the mid-west and don't have many hills to train on so these rides were challenging for me, but doable and once I was done I felt very satisfied. The accommodations were all different and great in their own way. The guides were energetic and informative. I highly recommend this tour - it's a great way to see Greece!

Wonderful trip

The experience with VBT went beyond expectations as did the part of Greece where we cycled. The Peloponnesian Peninsula is a relatively undiscovered biking jewel, I enjoyed it far more than biking various Greek Islands. Accommodations were excellent and Greek food speaks for itself. VBT and the guides went out of their way in providing a 5 star experience. The bikes were new and top quality, the routes were varied and interesting. The guides bent over backwards to please us and provide a great biking as well as cultural experience.

Spectaculars Vistas and Outstanding Cuisine

There are lots of tour companies but what VBT is the quality of its tour leaders. Angelo and Roberto were extraordinary guides. The solved guest issues, provided tremendous insight to the culture of the region and quite frankly, I now consider them friends. Be prepared to expand the memory on your phone for all of the pictures and videos that you will take on this tour. I will take this tour again!!!

Italy: Lake Como & the Italian Lake District

Lake Como - Five Stars

Lake Como & the Italian Lake District was a great trip. Busier towns such as Sirmione and Bellagio were balanced by less busy towns on Lake Iseo. The Bernina Railway to St. Moritz, Switzerland was a highlight. The mileage was easy with E bikes. The food was consistently good and the trip leaders were fantastic. Much of the biking was on dedicated bike trails and in rural areas, but there were some stretches on shared roads that had traffic.
