Beautiful Scenery

The scenery was incredible, especially at the 3 places where we stayed during the trip. The trip leaders were excellent and very attentive to the group. The additional excursions, kayaking, Butchart Gardens, a visit to a cheese farm, wine and cider tasting were a lot of fun. I would have classified the biking as moderate, the 1st 3 days were quite hilly but I did improve my cycling skills.

Terrible logistics - fabulous destination

Terrible logistics - fabulous destination. The location (British Columbia), guides (Eric and Philippe), and other guests were great. Really wonderful. The logistics were terrible. 1. The second leg of our flight out was cancelled - not VBT's fault, of course. But there we were in Montreal, at midnight on the first day of our trip, and NO ONE would help us. VBT was closed and the "Emergency Contact" in our paperwork said they couldn't help unless we had Trip Insurance through them, which we didn't. In the end, we figured it out ourselves; flying to Toronto and on to Victoria, but are now wrestling with Air Canada over $500 fee for our new flights. In all, it took us nearly 24 hours to get from Boston to Victoria. 2. Our flight home was scheduled to leave Victoria at 6:45 in the morning, which meant we left our hotel at 4 AM. Hardly the ending to the trip I would have liked. No services were available that morning...it was a pretty lousy way to finish. 3. The layover at Vancouver was one hour - not enough in the best of times to get through security and customs - this is not the best of times to be travelling. We missed the second leg of the flight, despite having only carry-on luggage and running through the airport. Air Canada kindly sent us to Las Vegas in order to get to Boston. The total trip was nearly 30 hours to get home. I realize VBT has no control over the airline mess these days. But as a very pricey tour company, there should be some help 24/7. In addition, scheduling international flights at 6:45 in the morning, in adequate layovers and the like, makes for a very bad experience. I won't be using VBT again.

Great Time, Trip, & Tour

I am a 'rookie; with VBT having completed my first trip to the Canadien Rockies. I had a wonderful time with the leaders and all the bikers. Te scenery and cycling were breathtaking. The meals and camarderie with our guides made for a very enjoyable time. Experience the wonder of the great outdoors in the Canadian Rockies! You will have the time of your life.

Cycling the Canadian Rockie

This was an amazingly beautiful ride with stunning mountains, lakes, waterfalls and guides. The food was exceptional incuding the picnics the guides prepared for us. I ride alone and feel completely comfortable and well taken care of (if needed).
